In preparation for the 2016 African Men's Handball Championship, we were the selected partner to replace the old conventional luminaires in the stadium. The main challenge during execution was the timing as the project had to be completed in less than four months.
During the project 160 ArenaVision LED floodlights were installed. Thanks to its flicker-free high quality, the new lighting allows the stadium to provide high definition broadcasting, therefore the stadium is now allowed to host international sport tournaments. Since its upgrade, the stadium is also considered as one of the landmarks in the City of Cairo. Furthermore, this lighting upgrade has also led to a more than 50% reduction in terms of energy consumption.
